Bloom is an educational wellness and self-tracking companion for pregnancy and gestational diabetes. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
1. Information Bloom stores on your device
Bloom can store information you choose to enter, including glucose readings, meal notes, activity, weight, water, mood, appointments, care-team contacts and instructions, pregnancy and postpartum dates, journal letters, ultrasound images, preferences, and reminder settings.
Bloom has no Bloom user account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or Bloom-operated cloud server. The developer does not receive this information.
Bloom disables Android automatic app-data backup. Its iOS build marks the Application Support directory used for persistent app data as excluded from automatic device and iCloud app-data backups.
2. Apple Health
On supported iPhones, Bloom can request read-only access to step-count and blood-glucose samples. Bloom asks only after you choose a connection. Apple lets you allow or deny each data type and change that choice in system privacy settings.
Apple Health information is used only to show health-management information to you inside Bloom. It is not used for advertising, marketing, data mining, or sale. Bloom does not write to Apple Health. Samples imported into Bloom are stored locally on your device.
3. Local notifications
Glucose, appointment, and postpartum reminders are scheduled locally by your phone at times you choose. Bloom does not use a server to send these reminders and does not receive notification tokens.
4. Sharing and backups you control
Bloom shares information only when you start an action such as exporting a PDF report or a password-encrypted backup. The phone's share sheet lets you choose the destination.
A backup may contain sensitive health and pregnancy information. Save it only in a secure location you control. Bloom does not store your backup password and cannot recover it. Exported files remain wherever you saved them even after Bloom is deleted.
5. Personal recipes
Bloom does not retrieve or import recipe content from outside websites. If you save a personal recipe, the title, ingredients, method, and optional carbohydrate estimate remain on your device with the rest of your Bloom data.
6. Retention and deletion
On-device information remains until you delete it in Bloom, reset Bloom, or delete the app. Files you exported must be deleted separately from their saved locations. You can revoke Apple Health access in iOS Settings or the Health app and notification access in system Settings.
7. Children's privacy
Bloom is intended for adults managing pregnancy. Bloom does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated service because Bloom does not operate an account or data-collection service.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Bloom's features or privacy practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
9. Not medical advice
Always follow your healthcare provider's guidance. Bloom cannot evaluate an emergency. Contact your clinician or local emergency services when urgent care may be needed.
